![]() David Majzlin: Biography David Majzlin's musical career began at age two with a performance art piece composed by destroying the ivory keys of his parents' piano with a toy hammer. Shortly thereafter he formed Toy Hammer Music and began scoring to picture. David's film composing credits include Being Reel (Winner - Coca-Cola® Refreshing Filmmaker Competition), Still(e) (Winner - Best Score - Avignon Film Festival), Excuses, Excuses (Nominee - Student Academy Award®), Virgin Larry (Winner - Coen Brothers Audience Award - Brooklyn Film Festival), Herb and Dorothy (Winner - Audience Award - Silverdocs Film Festival) and over 30 independent films. Television credits include trailers and promos for Ugly Betty, CSI, Grey's Anatomy, The Ghost Whisperer, Boston Legal, 20/20, and Desperate Housewives. He has also written for Tough Crowd With Colin Quinn (Comedy Central), Living With Change (Castleworks), and Looking Back, Moving Forward (PBS). David's commercial compositions have earned him a Telly, Caddy, finalist placements for the First London International Advertising Awards and the International Monitor Awards. Theater credits include Manigma, starring Michael Aronov (Lbs, Hedwig and the Angry Inch), A Mouthful of Birds, directed by Rebecca Taylor, and The Winter's Tale, a rock musical produced for The Rude Mechanicals Theater Company. David has also worked as a producer and programmer with artists such as Lou Reed, Fernando Saunders, Katy vs Evil, Aviva, and performing arts group, Body Temple, as well as The Labyrinth Dance Theater (Sasha Spielvogel, choreographer).
